Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Been there, done that! And you bet it one of the funnest experiences I’d ever had.
I was there a few years ago with my family as part of a cruise destination. The waterfall is very wide and probably half a mile long. The water is soft and steady and the pools on each step are shallow. The waterfall runs through a tropical forest and straight into the Caribbean Ocean. In fact, that’s where you start the climb: On the beach!
Yes this place is famous for climbing. There are tour guides along the fall to guide you, and you basically go up as a group. It’s not always an easy climb, but you can rest at any time in the little pools of water on each step. Then you can marvel at the forest around you and gaze back at the Carribean Ocean hundreds of feet below you.
It’s an absolutely wonderful experience, climbing a waterfall. Mark this as one of the things you must do if you go to Jamaica!

I want to hold your hand.
A young long tailed macaque monkey has been spotted in a forest protectively nuzzling and grooming a ginger kitten and making sure no harm came to it. The extraordinary sight was captured by amateur photographer Anne Young while on holiday at the Monkey Forest Park, in the Ubud region of Bali, Indonesia.
