Bite of the day
Agnostic atheists are atheistic because they do not have belief in the existence of any deity, and agnostic because they do not claim to know that a deity does not exist. The agnostic atheist may be contrasted with the agnostic theist, who does believe that one or more deities exist but does not claim to have knowledge of such. (Wikipedia article on Agnostic atheism)

The Missing Programmer
Cops were investigating a missing persons report on a computer programmer. When they entered his residence, they found his body in the still-running shower with an empty bottle of shampoo next to his body. Instructions on the bottle read: 1. Wet hair 2. Apply shampoo 3. Lather 4. Rinse 5. Repeat

Windows' being an ass again
It randomly renamed a lot of my folders to nonsense like found.000 and dir0002.chk and moved them all to my hard drive root. Now it’s a big cluttered mess that I have to sort out, not to mention some of my files were permanently lost (including music I actually purchased!). The worst part is not knowing what files I need to look for among the botched folder names since, as far as I can tell...

When I first heard of those damn “fixies”, I could not imagine why in the world anyone would want to ride a bike with no brakes or coasting ability. Well now I do!

Guess what I'm doing right now?
Cleaning up my Windows 7 RC1 because it’s expiring at the end of February and I’m downgrading to Vista since I’m too poor to spend even $30 (student discount price) for a 7 upgrade and I’m one of the few people who never thought there was anything wrong with Vista anyway and also because I use mainly Linux. Whew, one hell of a clause (no subject, see?).

Crazy teen bandit! →
An 18 year old who steals airplanes, robs retail stores, commits online identity theft, lives in the woods, and is a Facebook celebrity?! Where the hell are his parents? How do police have “no solid leads on Harris-Moore’s whereabouts.” What a crazy kid. Edit: Ok, turns out he’s actually really famous and I just never heard of him. He’s apparently stolen a speedboat,...

The Chicago Auto Show starts in 2 days. The last time and the only time I attended was back in 03, so maybe I’ll go this year. Some things you maybe didn’t know. -Largest auto show in North America with 1.3 million sq ft and around 1000 cars. -First show in 1901, 100th show in 2008. -Over 1 million visitors per year.

So this morning, there was a 3.8 earthquake a couple dozen miles from where I live in Illinois. And apparently millions of people from multiple states reported that they felt the shock while I slept right through it. In my defense, the quake was calculated to be 33,000 times weaker than the one in Haiti. (CNN story)

Has anyone else ever noticed that those global satellite images never show snow? I know why they do this (to differentiate ice shelves, Antarctica, etc.) and how they do this (patch together shots from cloudless, summer days), but I’m really interested to see an satellite image of how the globe would look on a specific day, especially a winter day.
